Documents Required for Repatriation
Please see below the documents required to obtain a Certificate of Repatriation, which will allow for the deceased to be transferred to Cameroon from the United Kingdom or the Scandinavian region.
- Written request addressed to the High Commissioner
- Death certificate
- Affidavits of content
- Cameroonian ID of the deceased
- Embalming certificate
- Authorisation to take the body out of the UK or the Scandinavian region
- Free from infection certificate
β οΈ Additional Requirements in Cameroon
In addition to the above, the family will need to obtain a burial permit and an authorisation from the Service of Social and Cultural Affairs of the Central or Littoral Region, signed by a Senior Divisional Officer (Le PrΓ©fet).
This authorisation is required to allow the transfer and entrance of mortal remains into the relevant region (Douala/YaoundΓ©). Without this authorisation, it may not be possible to issue a Certificate of Repatriation.
